Come at Us Adds Experienced Left Winger

With the sudden inactivity of booyah4-, Come at Us has decided that the left wing position required more depth so that the team may once again proceed with 6-man games. After 6 games with the club, the team has seen enough in Duodenum (KeslersSkills) to be excited about. Duodenum has recorded 5 goals and 6 helpers in those 6 games for a total of 11 points, and also registered a plus-minus of 10.

Last night, he recorded his first goal against another Vancouver team known as High Tech Performance (HTP). His goal tied us the game, which eventually allowed us to win the game in the third period.

Despite small confusions in the offensive zone with certain players, he has shown that he likes to cycle the puck. We're also very pleased with his defensive side of the game. However, his skating ability could use some improvement off the rush and he eventually needs to be stronger with the puck. Overall, we are very satisfied with his performance over the 6 games, and we are pleased to finally have him on our team.

Welcome Duodenum!

Come at Us (CAU) Plays Rival Canucks Dot Com (CDC)

After about a month of not seeing each other, CAU plays CDC for the first time since the remake of the club. Unfortunately, I disconnected right at the start of the game and I was playing right defense. Since the AI defencemen in the game aren't that great, I suspect CDC to take full advantage of that side of the ice. The game started out as 5v5 until I disconnected at the 18:56 mark. The following players were in the game:

It's been a while since we met, and this time some of us had some decent cards. Both CDC and CAU were off to great starts this season, and I think Meganuck has been playing good for them. It's always great to play these games because of the rivalry we've had over the years. I think these games bring the best out of both teams.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to do a detailed summary of the game as I was not apart of it. However, Kanucks25 and booyah4- were kind enough to help me save the highlights.

First Period:
No goals were scored in the first period. I was told that we had a 6 minute cycle in their offensive zone though on a delayed penalty call. Unfortunately, we were unable to capitalize on our chances and I feared it would come back to haunt us since CDC seems to be a very strong 3rd period team against us.

Second Period:
booyah4- opens up the score by receiving a beauty from Frankchise_605. Frankchise_605 makes a pass from the high slot and booyah4- makes no mistake. Goal scored on the power play and CAU leads 1-0.

CDC doesn't back down though and number 8 shows why he's great once again. Powering his way, while protecting the puck, he puts it in and ties the game 1-1 in the second. Looking at the clip, it was my AI defenseman trying to stop him too!

Right now the game is tied 1-1 heading into the third. We all know CDC's ability to play a strong game in the third. It's been like that since our rivalry began so it's no secret to us that they're going to come out hard and we had to be at our best.

Third Period:
CDC starts out strong like we predicted. Number 8 scores again with a leg fake and some dekes! Once again, on the right side where I disconnected! Who is this guy? Get him on our team! Timely goals help CDC take the lead.

We don't give up however. booyah4- sets up Frankchise_605 for a one timer and he blasts it by the goalie to tie up the game. Clutch goal at the the right time sets the stage for overtime.

So who do you think is going to win?

Overtime
In overtime, CAU does one of their popular plays off the rush and we cause a scramble in their defense. booyah4- makes a pass by 2 guys and Kanucks25 receives it to deliver the puck to Frankchise_605 for the finishing touch! CAU wins 3-2 in OT.

At the end of the game, I was told that Meganuck sent us a message saying "GG, you guys have a good team." What a classy way for the new owner of CDC to end off a tough game between the 2 rivaled Canuck teams. Good game CDC, we look forward to playing you again in the future!

I would like to apologize to my teammates for disconnecting at the start of the game though. These are the kind of games I want to help the team win. I'm thankful they came through for me and won the game!

A Change is Gonna Come

Come at Us has officially been created on September 29th, 2011. The club is off to a 11-1-0 start and are looking for a strong push this month. We are also glad to see that CDC ALLIED has been remade by a respectful player Vicodin14 and we hope everything goes well for them. It looks like CDC is having a great start with an 8-0-0 record and we wish them the best of luck this month also. We will see you all on the ice when the time comes. Until then, happy EASHLing!

We Got Ourselves a Goodfella

Come at Us is pleased to announce the addition of Goodfella146 once again. The veteran defencemen, known for his amazing slap shot and one timer, was removed from the club due to personal issues. Due to the low number of quality defencemen Come at Us has this year, Goodfella146 has been asked to change his ways and to reunite with us.

In addition, diesel_3 had a decent tryout but was not able to make the team. The potential he has as a defencemen can be seen, but we are no longer in a process of rebuilding. We hope he finds another team that can grow with him, and we wish him the best of luck in the future.

Make that Three!

Three new submissions to this year's best has been made. xChris76 makes a double hit with his hip check and retrieves the puck for the team! What's with all the double-dions lately? Let's see something different!

WiLBoY submits his penalty shot goal for year's best. There was no significance to this goal as the score was already 9-1 but I thought it was kinda pretty.

Frankchise_605 makes an unbelievable penalty shot save to keep the team in the lead. If this goal had gone in, the game would probably have gone into overtime. With pretty much one goaltender on the team, there isn't much players who can steal "Best Save of the Year" from Frankchise_605.

Capital Connection Official Name Change

So it's been decided. Capital Connection will undergo a name change due to the team member's votes. The club name will now be called "Come at Us" due to a 14 point vote win. The team will officially be made one day prior to October 2011. The temporary club we currently have will be deleted as it was a place for the club to obtain their cards together. With most of the core members having bought NHL12, our team is once again ready for another long year.

Good luck to CDC, CDA, The NHL 12 Year Olds, and all other Canuck forum based teams. Hope you all have a successful year and we will see you on the ice.

Capital Connection (cC) Plays Rival Canucks Dot Com (CDC)

Finally, the first game between our two teams begin. It was a fun game, even though we ended up losing once Krazzx disconnected from the game. Despite having only rookie cards, I thought our team matched up decently against them although their players skated a lot faster. I had to hustle just to keep up with a lot of them and with an endurance of 60, that's not really a good move. I ended up recording all the goals for those of you who are interested in what happened. I'm sorry I couldn't compile all the clips together, it would take too long to upload onto Youtube rather than just straight onto the blog. Capital Connection is the home team (blue jerseys) and Canucks Dot Com is the away team (white jerseys).

cC vs CDC

First Period:
We take the lead at start with a cross crease goal which barely made it in.

CDC ties it with a turnover right in front of the net! Game tied 1-1

Our teammate xChris76 with an amazing snipe short side. What a shot!

WiLBoY takes a shot from the right point, and xChris76 tips it in! cC leads 3-1

From here, we enter the 2nd period and have a 3-1 lead. Everything's looking good and we told ourselves not to back down because CDC likes to come back from behind every time.

Second Period:
No goals were scored in the second period, but Krazzx disconnected from the game and it went downhill here.

Third Period:
CDC gets a breakaway, very unfortunate bounce to the middle of the ice. Score becomes 3-2 for cC

CDC does what they do best, cross crease and it connects! Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure Krazzx would have stopped that as the AI was just standing there not doing anything. The game becomes tied, 3-3 in the third.

Number 8 shows why he's great. Takes a snipe short side on our goalie top shelf. What I wonder is why the AI defenceman wasn't covering his side but was in the slot instead, but very nice goal. CDC leads 4-3.

40 seconds left in the third, cC gets a powerplay and xChris76 receives the pass right in the slot and buries it. Game tied 4-4 and xChris76 completes the hat-trick.

CDC scores with 30 or so seconds left and the AI defencemen is left standing there watching. A very timely goal for CDC, but they made a good push back. CDC leads 5-4 in the third with 20 seconds left and eventually wins the game.

Despite losing, it was a fun game to be apart of. I think we hit like 4-5 posts in the 2nd period though, and I knew those were going to come back and haunt us. We even missed the penalty shot, but Frankchise_605 bailed us out on their penalty shot earlier. Overall, a good game and we're looking forward to more once we get out of our rookie cards. Good job CDC!
